What can we say about a website that is within the top 1000 sites on the internet? That there should tell you that Audible is doing something right.

But that's not why you are reading this. There really is little bad that we can say about Audible, we tried to pick it apart, and find it's faults, but the system they use, the website design, the simplicity of the program, and the ease at which you can download the audio books, just leaves us... speechless!

Now, Audible has over 26,000 audio book available online, with over 27 categories you can choose from, we worked out that since it's beginning, Audible has had around 11,000,000 audio books sold from it's website. With 11,000,000 downloads, you can be sure you are getting quality products (check their feedback!).

One of the coolest features though (and we'd check this out even if you had no interest in audio books) is their "I Want To" search function. Basically you select "What you want" from a list of different categories, from "Be A Kid Again" to "Have A Lunch With A Phycicist". Some of the results are pretty funny.

Jiggerbug

Now, Jiggerbug is a little different from the others, but basically it is an audio book rental company.

Essentially how it works, is that you pay a monthly fee, and that monthly fee entitles you to a specific number of titles that you can listen to each month.

You select which audio books you want to listen to, the first one is then sent out to your mail box (usually within 2 days) you listen to it, and then put it in it's prepaid envelop it comes with, and send it back. Once it's received, they'll then send you the next one, and so on and so on.

Now, this isn't too bad, but for us, we'd rather pay and download the file straight away (that whole instant gratification thing) but for those who don't mind waiting, and like to listen to a lot of audio books, then this sort of program can work really well.

If a rental type system is what you are looking for, then Jiggerbug is at the top of the game.

Ok, Books-A-Million is the third largest book retailer in the nation and offers deep discounts online at BOOKSAMILLION.COM.

While they are predominantly an online book retailer, they do have an audio section, where you can purchase audio books, and while they aren't immediately downloadable, you can get them on CD and shipped directly to you.

Not to bad.
